Announced at London’s Guildhall and presented by Ramesh Patel, LesConcierges President, and Kai Schoenhals, LesConcierges Chief Innovation Officer, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal has earned the highest new entry ranking ever in the history of the awards.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal opened January 2011 and was awarded a Michelin Star within its first year. A historical approach of British gastronomy is taken in the cuisine, using recipes dating all the way back to the 14th century. The menu features unforgettable and classic dishes like the mandarin-tinged chicken liver parfait and the Sauternes-soaked tipsy cake. It has received constant high acclaim and surely will be a restaurant to watch in future 50 Best lists. Dinner is one of two of chef Heston Blumenthal’s restaurants on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, the other being The Fat Duck ranking this year at number 13.

Of all the new entries on 2012 World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the Highest New Entry Award Sponsored by LesConcierges is awarded to the restaurant making their debut on the list. Past recipients of this award have included London’s The Ledbury that ranked 34th at last year’s awards and 14th this year. Switzerland’s Schloss Schauenstein ranked 30th in 2010 and rose seven spaces to 23 in 2011. Osteria Francescana in 2009 entered at 13th and last year ranked 4th and saw its patron Massimo Bottura take home the Chef’s Choice Award, an accolade he credits as a turning point in the restaurant’s success.
